Scar House gardens are  open every Weekend in June, July & August

06 Nature's Steps

Scar is an old Irish word for rock, and this part of the garden perfectly embodies its meaning. The landscape here is dominated by towering rocks that have withstood the test of time.

These ancient rocks form an impressive natural display which we wanted to include in our garden. Their majestic presence commands attention, serving as a reminder of the enduring strength and resilience of the Irish land.

Overall, this portion of the garden is a testament to the rich cultural and geological history of Ireland, showcasing the significance of the word "scar" in capturing the essence of the Irish landscape.

After the fruit trees had been planted, we constructed over seventy concrete stepping stones, creating a winding pathway that now provides a natural, meandering walkway amongst the trees representing nature’s footsteps.
